How is this different from the generic SSSP?
The generic SSSP at $295 is the universal baseline — works for any single-trade subcontractor. The Construction tier at $395 adds 14 trade-specific control sections with detailed measures and OSHA citations, integrates 14 supporting JHAs, and uses the more rigorous submission package format that sophisticated GCs (Skanska, Turner, Suffolk, etc.) expect.

Do the JHAs replace separate JHA templates?
Partially. The 14 JHAs included with the Construction tier are designed to integrate with the SSSP for project submission. If you need standalone JHAs for other uses (training, OSHA inspections, multi-project use), our separate JHA Trade Bundle is a better fit and includes 15 trades with more detail.
Is this overkill for a single-trade subcontractor?
If you're a single-trade subcontractor on a simple project, the generic SSSP at $295 is sufficient. The Construction tier makes sense when (1) you work multiple trades, (2) you're on multi-trade projects where coordination matters, (3) your GC has higher submission expectations, or (4) you want the JHA bundle integrated with the SSSP.
Is this OSHA EM 385-1-1 compatible for federal projects?
It's compatible but not federally specific. Federal projects under EM 385-1-1 require an Accident Prevention Plan (APP) with additional federal-specific content — see our separate APP template. The Construction SSSP works as the underlying technical content for an APP; combine the two products for full federal compliance.
