Why use a tag instead of a regular permit form?
NFPA 51B §5.4.2 requires the permit to be posted at the work location during the activity. A tag format is durable enough to be posted on a workbench, fence, or equipment, and the tear-off design lets you keep a record copy in your office while the working copy stays in the field.
How many tags are in a pad?
50 tags per pad — typically enough for 1-2 months of regular hot-work at a small contractor or several months at a maintenance department.
Can I customise the tag with my company information?
Yes. The Word template has editable header fields for your company name, logo, and permit-number sequence. You can also add or remove permit fields to match your facility's specific procedures.
What paper should I print these on?
Standard 24 lb office paper works for indoor or short-duration use. For outdoor work or wet/dirty conditions, print on 200-300 GSM cardstock or weather-resistant synthetic paper.
